Israeli Forces Raze 50 Dunams of Land, Seize a Garbage Truck, Order Demolition of Two Schools in West Bank

Israeli forces razed, on Sunday 50 dunams of Palestinian-owned land in Dura town, southwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, according to one of the land-owners.

Waleed Abu Sharar, owner of a plot of land in Dura town, told the Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA) that Israeli bulldozers razed 50 dunams of privately-owned land.

Abu Sharar added that Israel’s main objective of the leveling of the land is to make room for the expansion of the nearby illegal colonies on occupied Palestinian territory.

West of Salfit, in the central West Bank, Israeli forces seized a municipal garbage truck and detained its driver for a short time, local sources reported.

Witnesses told WAFA that the driver of the garbage truck, identified as Taha Abu Hamda,was detained and forced to drive the truck to a nearby illegal Israeli colony, and later released.

According to Quds Press, Israeli authorities delivered, on Sunday, demolition orders to two schools for Palestinian children, located to the east of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank.

Eyewitnesses said that the Raqafim settler organization posted demolition notices on the Kisan and Al-Tahadi 5 schools east of Bethlehem.

Hassan Breijieh, a local official in charge of the Israeli settlement activities in the area, stated that the Tahadi 5 school has been knocked down five times previously and rebuilt.
