Army Issues Demolition and Stop-Work Orders to School, Shelters and Barns Near Hebron

Israeli occupation authorities issued, on Monday, a demolition order for a school and stop-work orders for eight other Palestinian-owned structures in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern West Bank, according to a local activist.

Rateb al-Jabour told the Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA) that Israeli soldiers delivered demolition orders against a newly constructed school in Masafer Yatta.

The school was built by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to serve 50 students from Masafer Yatta, which consists of 19 hamlets.

Furthermore, the army handed eight Palestinian citizens stop-work orders against shelters and animal barns in the Shaab al-Batn community of Masafer Yatta.

The orders were issued under the pretext that the structures were built in what is known as ‘Area C’, under full Israeli civil and military control, as dictated by the Oslo Accords.
