Israeli forces shot and killed, on Sunday, a Palestinian woman at a military roadblock at the eastern entrance of Husan village, west of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank, the Ministry of Health confirmed.
Witnesses said the victim, identified as Ghada Ibrahim Sabatien, 45, a widowed mother of six children, was attempting to cross the military roadblock when soldiers opened fire at her, shooting her in the thigh.
Locals transported the injured woman to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital where she was pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot wound and a massive amount of blood loss, according to the Ministry of Health.
Crowds of mourners gathered at the Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, carried the body of the slain widow to her place of residence in Husan village, performed the funeral prayer and laid her to rest in the village cemetery.
