The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced, on Tuesday, the death of a young man after the occupation army shot him in the head with live rounds, in the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, southwest of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank.
Late Monday night, undercover Israeli agents (Musta’ribeen) invaded the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, where they detained Muhammad Abdullah Tariq and his son Hamza, leading to confrontations with Palestinian youths.
The army opened fire with live rounds at those who protested the incursion, shooting and injuring three young men, two of whom were shot in their legs, and one was shot in the head, his condition was described as critical.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced that the critically injured young man, identified as Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat, 20, succumbed to his wounds at dawn Tuesday, after spending the night attached to a breathing machine.
Ahmed Al-Bitawi, the director of the Palestine Medical Complex, stated that the slain young man suffered a critical injury which resulted in a laceration to the brain tissue after occupation forces shot him in the head with live ammunition.
Mourners gathered, on Tuesday evening, to pay their respects to the slain young man, Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat, 20, from the Ain al-Sultan refugee camp, west of Jericho city.
Crowds of people from the Jericho governorate and the Jordan Valley assembled at the Jericho Governmental Hospital and carried the body to the New Jericho cemetery where they buried the body of the slain young man.
