Israeli Forces Detain Many Palestinians, Shoot One in the Occupied West Bank


Israeli occupation forces detained, on Sunday and Monday, several Palestinian civilians, including minors and former prisoners, throughout the West Bank, according to local sources.

Israeli forces invaded Rummana village, northwest of Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, on Monday, set up checkpoints and stormed many homes, triggering confrontations with Palestinian youths.

Soldiers detained four young men identified as Rawad Wissam Sbeihat, Ihab Nabil Mahajneh, Jihad Muhammad al-Amour, and Ibrahim Muhammad Shawqi al-Amour from the town.

The army stormed and searched, on Monday, the home of Ibrahim Hashash, 17, in Nablus city, in the northern west Bank, before detaining him.

Northwest of Salfit in the central West Bank, soldiers invaded Qarawat Bani Hassan town, on Monday, and stormed the family homes of Saher Ammar Marei, 20, and Awad Mustafa Marei, 23, before detaining them.

Menawhile, Israeli troops stormed Beit Rima town, northwest of Ramallah in the central West Bank, on Monday, invading and searching the home of a former prisoner, identified as Mahmoud Imad Al-Rimawi, 22, before detaining him.

Palestinian youths resisted the incursion, which soldiers responded to by firing live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters. No injuries were reported.

Furthermore, on Monday, in Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, soldiers assaulted and damaged the vehicle of Nadim Al-Naasan, at the entrance to the village, before detaining him.

Additionally, Israeli forces stormed Qatanna town, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Monday, and detained Adnan Shamasneh, after breaking into and searching his family home.

Soldiers stormed Beit Jala town, northwest of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, at dawn Monday, breaking into and rifling through the family home of Mustafa Quneis, 20, before detaining him.

Moreover, the occupation army set up checkpoints in the Hebron governorate, on Monday, and stormed the Al-Fawwar refugee camp, southwest of Hebron, where they detained a Palestinian child, identified as Islam Hassan Al-Ra’i, 16, taking him to an interrogation center.


On Sunday, Israeli soldiers shot a young man in Bab Al-Amoud Square in occupied Jerusalem, alleging that he stabbed a soldier.

The identity and health status of the young man was unknown at the time of this report, due to a number of conflicting reports.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Israeli troops detained two young men and a young woman, from Silwan town in occupied Jerusalem.

Only one of the detained young men was identified as Sufian Al-Natsheh, who was reported to have been assaulted by occupation forces.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops stormed and searched the family home of the child, Ibrahim Youssef Jawabra, 16, in the Al-Aroub refugee camp, north of Hebron in the southern West Bank, before detaining him.

In Sa’ir town, northeast of Hebron, soldiers broke into and rifled through the home of Ahnaf Yousef Aktish, on Sunday, before detaining him.

According to the Tubas director of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Kamal Bani Odeh, soldiers detained two young men from Tubas in the northeastern West Bank.

Odeh stated that Muhammad Rasoul Omar Daraghmeh, 24, a former prisoner, and Mahmoud Samer Abu Mutawa, 26, were on their way home from their workplaces, when soldiers detained them while they attempted to pass through the Hamra military checkpoint in the Jordan Valley.

On Sunday afternoon, soldiers stormed Rummana village, northwest of Jenin, to take measurements of the homes of the two Palestinian young men accused of killing three Israelis and injuring four in Elad, east of Tel Aviv in central Israel, on May 5.

The army took measurements of the homes of Asaad Al-Rifai, 19, and Sobhi Sbeiha, 20, in Rummana village, in preparation for their destruction, after the two accused men were arrested near Tel Aviv on Sunday.

Palestinian youths protested the invasion, which led to the soldiers firing tear gas canisters causing many to suffer the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.

It was also reported that at least 50 military vehicles invaded the village, snipers occupied the roofs of Palestinian civilians, and that soldiers fired concussion grenades, rubber-coated steel rounds in addition to tear gas canisters.

It was reported that one young man was injured with a concussion grenade on his leg, and that a resident of Al-Silah Al-Harithiya town, northwest of Jenin, identified as Mo’men Muhammad Shawahna, was detained while he was in Rummana village.
