Israeli Forces Injure Dozens of Palestinians, Including a Paramedic and a Journalist in West Bank Protests

Israeli forces attacked, on Friday, non-violent demonstrations in various parts of the occupied West Bank, and injured several Palestinian civilians, local sources reported.

In the northern West Bank village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia, local Palestinians gathered after the Friday prayer at the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, and marched through the village towards the main road which occupation authorities closed in 2003.

The weekly peaceful procession, has been held by locals for over a decade to express their rejection of the ongoing occupation and colonization of their lands, and to demand the main road be re-opened to Palestinians.

The main road of the village was closed to Palestinian residents in the area, in favor of the illegal colonial settlers from nearby settlements, causing the local Palestinians to find alternate routes to travel east to Nablus, the nearest major commercial center.

Local activist Morad Eshteiwi stated that Israeli forces opened fire at protestors with rubber-coated steel rounds and tear gas canisters, shooting and injuring 11, and causing several people to suffer the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.

Eshteiwi added that all injuries were given medical treatment on site by local medics.

Other demonstrations were held in Qaryout, south of Nablus, Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, and in the southern West Bank, south of Hebron in the Masafer Yatta area, where soldiers fired concussion grenades and tear gas canisters, causing many inhalation injuries among demonstrators.
