Israeli Army Detains Several Palestinian Civilians, Shoot and Injure Four in the Occupied West Bank


Israeli forces detained, on Sunday, a number of Palestinian civilians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, in addition to shooting and injuring four, local sources reported.

On Sunday evening, occupation soldiers detained a female Jerusalemite activist, identified as Khadija Khweis, near Bab al-Hatta, also known as the Gate of Forgiveness, one of the main gates leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, occupation soldiers detained Mahdi Jaber, from the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan town in East Jerusalem.

In the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, soldiers detained and interrogated Muhammad Ezz Al-Abbasi, before releasing him.

Soldiers detained and interrogated a minor, identified as Sultan Samreen, 17, from the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood of East Jerusalem, before releasing him on a 5,000 shekel bail.

Furthermore, soldiers detained a former prisoner, identified as Haitham Al-Jubeh, in addition to Rami Baraka from the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem.

Soldiers also detained a young man identified as Sami Abu Al-Halawa from Silwan town, in East Jerusalem.

In Sur Baher town, on the southeastern outskirts of East Jerusalem, soldiers detained another former prisoner, identified as Uwais Hamadeh, 42.

In the central part of the West Bank, northwest of Ramallah, Israeli forces invaded the town of Ein Qinya and set up a flying military roadblock between the town and the Al-Tira neighborhood in Ramallah, impeding movement of local traffic.

A video on social media shows armed resistance fighters opening fire at the armored vehicles, no injuries were reported.

The Israeli army stormed, on Sunday at dawn, the northern West Bank city of Tubas, shooting four and detaining two, including one of the injured young men.

According to Kamal Bani Odeh, the director of the Tubas chapter of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, Israeli forces invaded the city, which sparked fierce resistance from local youths and armed fighters.

Odeh stated that soldiers shot four young men with live rounds in their legs, and detained one of the injured young men, identified as Ashraf Raed Daraghmeh, 20.

Soldiers stormed and searched the home of the injured young man before detaining him, denying him medical treatment.

Local youths confronted the army with rocks and molotov cocktails, while armed Palestinian fighters exchanged fire with the invading army, however no injuries among the military were reported.

The other three young men who were shot with live ammunition were transferred to hospital for medical intervention.

Additionally, soldiers stormed and searched the home of Tariq Iyad Abdel Razek, before detaining him, although they were looking for his brother Basheer, a former prisoner.
