Israeli Forces Detain Several Palestinians Including Children, Injure Others in the Occupied West Bank


Israeli forces detained, on Tuesday and Wednesday, several Palestinian civilians, including children and former prisoners, in the occupied West Bank, local sources reported.

In the central occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers stormed and searched, on Wednesday, the home of Muhammad Samer Musa al-Abed, 17, in the village of Abu Shkhaydam, northwest of Ramallah, before detaining him.

Two former prisoners were detained, on Wednesday, when Israeli troops invaded and searched their homes near occupied Jerusalem.

Soldiers detained Hudhayfa Badr from Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem, and Arafat Dhiba from the Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the army invaded, on Wednesday, Tuqu’ town and Beit Fajjar, in the Bethlehem governorate and detained three children and a young man after raiding and searching their family homes.

From Beit Fajjar town, southwest of Bethlehem, soldiers detained three children identified as, Bilal Ayesh Thawabteh, 14, Ahmed Luay Thawabteh, 15, and Youssef Muhammad Al-Issa, 14, in addition to detaining Mustafa Jamal Al-Badan, 22, from Tuqu’ town, south of the city.

In the southern West Bank, northwest of Hebron, soldiers stormed and searched, on Wednesday, the home of Muhammad Hassan Mustafa Fatafta, in Tarqumiyah town, before detaining him.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces shot one young man and detained at least twelve others from different parts of the occupied West Bank, sparking protests from local youths.

In the northern West Bank, soldiers shot an unidentified young man while he was near the Huwara military checkpoint, south of Nablus.

According to Ahmed Jibril, the local director of the emergency services at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that the condition of the injured young man was unknown as soldiers denied its ambulance crews access.

Jibril added that the soldiers detained the wounded young man and took him to an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, the army stormed, on Tuesday at dawn, two villages near occupied Jerusalem, which sparked confrontations among local Palestinian youths.

In Beit Duqqu, northwest of Jerusalem, soldiers fired rubber-coated steel rounds, concussion grenades and tear gas canisters, leading to a number of youths being injured with steel rounds and others suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.

Soldiers broke into and searched the homes of Tamer Marar, Ali Hamdan Daoud, Saif Badr, and Shadi Hussein in Beit Duqqu, before detaining them.

In nearby Biddu village, soldiers stormed and searched the home of Suhaib Ahmed Abu Eid, before detaining him.

On Tuesday evening, soldiers stormed the Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem which triggered protests among local youths.

Soldiers responded by firing tear gas canisters and concussion grenades at the youths and civilian homes. There were no reports of injuries.

Furthermore, the army stormed, on Tuesday, the Dheisheh refugee camp and Beit Fajjar, in the Bethlehem governorate, in the southern part of the West Bank, detaining four Palestinian civilians.

After breaking into and searching the homes of Laith Al-Atrash, 20 and Jad Maali, 20, in the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, soldiers detained the two young men.

Lastly, soldier raided and ransacked the homes of Alaa Khaled Abu Samour, 31, and Hassan Ali Hassan Taqatqa, 26, from the town of Beit Fajjar, southwest of Bethlehem, before detaining them.
