Israeli forces shot two Palestinian young men, on Monday at dawn, killing one, and detaining several others in the Jenin governorate, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Occupation forces invaded different areas in Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, triggering protests among local youths, and exchange of fire between the army and Palestinian resistance fighters.
Soldiers opened fire during the incursion, shooting two young men, one of whom was critically injured after being shot three times with live ammunition.
The young man, identified as Taher Muhammad Zakarneh, 19, from Qabatiya town, was shot in the head with a live round, in addition to the thigh and the foot.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that they transferred the seriously wounded young man to Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin.
Soon after his arrival to hospital, medical sources declared that the young man had succumbed to the serious gunshot wounds, the Ministry of Health confirmed.
Soldiers shot another young man, identified as Mahmoud Riad Zakarneh, in the foot with a live round, according to medical sources in Jenin. No information regarding his condition was available at the time of this report.
During the arrest operation, soldiers detained three young men, according to director of the Jenin chapter of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, Montaser Samour.
Samour reported the detention of Uday Manasra when Israeli Special Forces stormed his workplace in the town.
He added that occupation forces detained two former prisoners after invading their family homes. The two young men were identified as Anwar Nidal Saba’anah and Nizar Muhammad Hanaysha.
Meanwhile, occupation soldiers stormed a number of homes in Jenin city, and detained two Palestinian young men, identified as, Muhammad Nassif Gawadra, who is a former prisoner, in addition to Amin Maher Al-Saadi.
