In another example of the Israeli occupation forces’ excessive use of force, soldiers shot and killed, on Saturday morning, two Palestinian teens and injured 11 more, including three who were deemed in critical condition, the Ministry of Health confirmed.
Israeli special forces (Yamam Unit) invaded, on Saturday morning, the Jenin refugee camp, west of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank, and followed by dozens of armored vehicles, while a plane, a drone, and helicopter flew overhead.
The military surrounded the two-storey home of former prisoner Sameer Saleh Abu Zeina, in the center of the camp, in an attempt to arrest the owner of the home, but instead detained the son of the owner, identified as Saleh Abu Zeina, 25.
During the army operation, local Palestinian youths resisted the incursion by throwing rocks at the armored vehicles, which soldiers responded to by opening live fire, tear gas canisters, and concussion grenades at the unarmed protestors,
Israeli occupation forces deploying snipers, shot and injured eleven Palestinian civilians with live fire, five of whom were deemed critical, and subsequently transferred to the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
Shortly thereafter, two teens were pronounced dead from the severe gunshot wounds inflicted on them by the Israeli military.
Soldiers shot Mahmoud Moayyad Mahmoud Al-Sous, 17, a resident of the camp, in the neck with a live round. As a result, the youth was pronounced dead, as confirmed by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Israeli forces killed another young man, identified as Ahmad Mohammad Hussein Daraghmeh, 19, from northern West Bank city of Tubas, after shooting him in the head with live ammunition during the ensuing confrontations.
Sources stated that ambulances were denied access to the site to provide medical assistance to the injured civilians.
Meanwhile, it was reported that soldiers opened live fire at press crews, deterring them from providing news coverage of the military operation.
Many locals gathered in Jenin and its refugee camp to condemn the excessive use of force against the Palestinian youths and called for the international community to protect the civilian population of Palestine.
Later on Saturday, masses of Palestinians in Jenin gathered for the funeral procession of Ahmad Mohammad Hussein Daraghmeh, carrying the body wrapped in the Palestinian flag, on their shoulders to his family home and laid him to rest in the martyrs’ cemetery.
Mourners condemned the murder of the two youths and called for national unity and an end to the Israeli aggression against the Jenin refugee camp and all the people of Palestine.
Furthermore, on Friday, Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinian teens in the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
